Michigan Beats Arizona In Final Four

Arizona men’s basketball had looked like the most complete team in the country for much of the season. They had a deep squad and the most impressive regular season resumé.

After making their first Final Four in 25 years, Arizona was looking to finish the job and had a tall task in the Michigan Wolverines standing in their way. 

But Michigan delivered the first hit and never looked back on Saturday night. It was a 91-73 final where the Wolverines never trailed. 

Aday Mara led the Wolverines with 26 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Five Michigan players hit the double-digit mark on Saturday. 

The Wolverines hit 48% of their shots and 44% from beyond the arc. 

This ends a historic season for the Wildcats. They were among the country’s elite programs throughout the entire season and reached heights that had not been attained since the Lute Olson era. 

There will be plenty of change for the program next year, but Tommy Lloyd will be leading the program after signing an extension to stay in Tucson.
