On Saturday, the Sun Devil Men’s Swim team clinched its best finish at the NCAA Championships since 1990 after placing sixth.
Leading the charge was 19-year-old freshman Léon Marchand. The France native won the 200 breast stroke with the second-fastest time in history (1:48.20). He aslo won the 200 IM and placed second in the 400 IM.
Before arriving in Tempe, Marchand competed at the 2020 Summer Olypmics.
This was a exactly what the program was lookimg for after redshirting the entire team for the 2021 season (COVID-19).
