Bernhard Langer is a charmer.

Tuesday, I dropped in on Phoenix Country Club to catch up with the Hall of Famer, who’s in town for the Charles Schwab Cup. Langer has completely dominated the Champions circuit, winning Player of the Year the last five seasons. He’s been a printing press for cash, leading the tour in winnings 10 of the last 11 years. He’s taken home close to 1.7-million dollars this season, but will have to play aggressive this week if he wants to catch Jerry Kelly or Scott McCarron for the top player on tour. “In the past when I was leading, I might’ve aimed for the middle of the green every once and awhile to stay away from trouble, I might not have that luxury this year”. He’s a two-time winner of the Masters and at age 62 he’s trying this week to put another big trophy(and check) on the mantle here in Phoenix.
