Player of the Week
Desert Edge QB Anthony Hernandez threw for 434 yards and 8 TDs in the Scorpions’ big win over Shadow Ridge.
QBs
*Horizon junior Dalton Sneed threw for 411 yards in a win over PV.
*Luke Rubenzer was great again, throwing for 258 yards and 6 TDs against AJ. Three TDs went to J.T. Nettleton.
*Chaparral’s Sean Paul Brophy threw for 302 yards and 2 TDs in the Firebirds’ comeback win over Desert Mountain. DM’s Kyle Allen threw for 288 yards and 3 TDs in the game.
*Tempe junior Emanuel Gant threw for 412 yards and 3 TDs in a win over TBird. Massiah Smith caught 5 passes for 156 yards and 2 TDs.
*In a win over Pinnacle, Basha’s Zach Werlinger threw for 396 yards and 3 TDs. WR Doc O’Connor caught 15 passes in the game.
*Pinnacle junior Brian Lewerke threw for 231 yards and rushed for 106 more against Basha.
*Westwood’s Kane Tieman totaled 3 TDs against Gila Ridge.
*Higley soph. Tyler Bloom had 273 passing and 98 rushing yards in a win over Cactus Shadows.
*Mt. View’s John Clark threw for 306 yards and 5 TDs Friday. WR Clark Brown caught 5 passes for 154 yards and 2 scores.
*Show Low’s Colby Maxwell made the most of his 8 passing attempts, completing six, four of which went for TDs. He totaled 246 yards in their win over Monument Valley. WR Trevor Solomon had 158 yards and 3 TDs.
*Buckeye remained undefeated with a win over Sierra Linda. QB Art Bojorguez threw for 291 yards and 4 TDs while WR Quinten Hunt caught 2 TDs passes.
*Kooper Ray from Goldwater threw for 245 yards, rushed for 145 yards and totaled 3 TDs against Indy.
RBs
*Luke Quinn from Horizon totaled 317 yards and scored 6 times against PV.
*Brandon Sellers from Fairfax rushed for 348 yards and 3 TDs.
*Filling in for a hurt Wes Payne, Mt. Pointe’s Brandyn Leonard rushed for 180 yards and 3 TDs against Chandler.
*Queen Creek’s Weston Barlow rushed for 289 yards and 5 TDs in a win over McClintock.
*Mesa’s Turrell Pietz-Noble rushed for 230 yards and 3 TDs against Valley Vista.
*Sunnyslope remained undefeated. Tim Fryson had 180 recieivng yards and 2 TDs as well as 100 rushing yards and 3 TDs against Tolleson.
Receivers
*Desert Edge’s Elijah Marks went off again. He had 232 yards and 5 TDs in a win over Shadow Ridge.
*In a loss to Mesa, Valley Vista’s Terry Juniel caught 10 passes for 206 yards and 2 scores.
Defense/Special Teams
*TE Brett Adams from Saguaro had 2 receiving TDs as well as 2 INTs, one he returned for a TD against AJ.
*Mt. Pointe’s Mitchell Fraboni blcoked 2 punts against Chandler.
*Goldwater’s Jeremy Muniz returned kick offs for scores against Independence.
