Coach of the Week

* Corey Nenaber – Corona del Sol. The Aztecs are 2-0 and are coming off a 50-26 win over previously unbeaten St. Mary’s.

Team of the Week

* Pinnacle. I know they are D1 but despite that fact, I am not sure many predicted they would beat Saguaro. They did and held them to just 12 points.

QBs

* Matt Mitchell from Joy Christian scored 5 TDs in their win over Round Valley.

* In a loss to Deer Valley, Washington’s Mario Armandarez threw for a school record 409 yards.

* Dysart’s Tyree Taylor scored 5 total TDs against Copper Canyon, 2 passing, 2 rushing and 1 on an INT return.

* Pueblo’s Justin Pledger had 4 TDs against Marana.

* Junior Chase Cord from Sunrise Mountain threw for 327 yards and 5 TDs and also scored 2 on the ground on Friday.

* Brophy’s Cade Knox threw for 235 yards and 2 TDs against Liberty. He also had a rushing TD.

* Rhett Rodriguez from Catalina Foothills thew for 230 yards and 2 scores and had 47 yards and 1 TD against Cienega.

* Flagstaff’s Christian Singleton had 3 TDs versus Kingman.

* Page QB Randall Holgate threw for a school record 436 yards in a loss to Monument Valley.

* Travis Lockhart from Hamilton had 3 TDs versus Highland.

* Seton Catholic’s Garrett Boyd threw for 352 yards and 2 TDs in a loss to Cibola.

* Drew Inness from Northwest Christian had 3 TDs against Tempe Prep.

RBs

* Sierra Linda’s Toshaun Thomas rushed for 168 yards and 3 TDs and had 165 receiving yards and 2 more scores in a win over Goldwater.

* Amarii Keyes from Skyline ran for 190 yards and 3 TDs against Notre Dame.

* Centennial senior Quentin Gomez rushed for 223 yards and 2 scores against Basha.

* Desert Ridge’s Jathan Tenerio rushed for 206 yards and 2 scores against O’Connor.

* Anthony Ramirez from Kellis rushed for 306 yards and 1 TD against Independence.

* Tucson’s DeAndre Williams had 3 TDs versus Canyon del Oro.

Receivers

* Joy Christian’s Dujuan Lawrence had caught 5 passes for 74 yards and 3 TDs and scored a 4th rushing against Round Valley.

* Isaiah Lovett from Marana Mt. View had 8 catches for 270 yards and 2 TDs versus Horizon.

Special Teams/Defense/Misc.

* Brophy HC Scooter Molander got his 100th career win Friday night against Liberty.

* Corona’s Jacob Onofrio had 2 INTs returned for scores agaist St. Mary’s.

* Central DE Azur Kamara continues to tear it up, he had 3 sacks, bringing him to 7 on the season.

* Perry LB Case Hatch made 19 tackles.
