High Limit Champion Rico Abreu Sets Sights on Series’ Return to Arizona

High-octane, high-intensity, 410 sprint car racing returns to the Grand Canyon State as High Limit Racing returns to Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande for three nights of racing this weekend.

For the first time in his career, Rico Abreu, claimed a national sprint car championship after a dominant 2025 season. The 34-year-old form St. Helena, CA, has most raced with his own home-built team, an impressive feat in the world of motorsports. But 2026 brings a massive change for the two-time Chili Bowl Nationals Champion. Abreu will drive for Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing in 2026, featuring a collaboration between Stewart’s nine-time World of Outlaws championship-winning team with Abreu’s team, still fresh off last year’s title.

As the series heads into the second race weekend of the 2026 season, Abreu and the rest of the touring field are looking to build on last weekend’s season opener at Las Vegas Motor Speedway results. Abreu enters the weekend sixth in the points standings as the series enters its fourth of 64 scheduled races this season.

The series made their first visit to Central Arizona Raceway in 2025. Two nights of racing marked the return of premier sprint car racing to Arizona. Aaron Reutzel and 2024 series champion Brad Sweet claimed victories over the two days of racing. Both drivers return to Casa Grande looking to reclaim victories against their fellow full-time drivers as well as local Arizonans and invaders from California.

Racing starts on Thursday, March 19 with a full night of racing at Central Arizona Raceway followed by two more nights on March 20 and March 21. The evenings include hot laps, qualifying, heat races, dashes, B-Mains, and the all-important feature events to hand out five-figure pay days.
