“He’s a great quarterback, has a great arm, great accuracy. We’ve kind of become best friends, honestly, so it’s definitely great knowing him,” 2018 Elite 11 quarterback Justin Fields said.
“The only thing I knew about him was he had great hair and he was tall. That’s pretty much it, but I’ve learned just how good his personality is and how well he gets along with guys.”
With his college decision made, Shough focused on recruiting other Tar Heel targets while in Beaverton, including four-star wide receiver Jordyn Adams, who committed to North Carolina while at The Opening.

Now, the Hamilton quarterback’s focus is on sharpening his body and mind for his senior season with the Huskies.
“I’m just trying to be a sponge, learn as much as I can from these amazing coaches, amazing players, gain all the confidence,” Shough said. “Just learn as much as I can and best the best quarterback here and win that competition.”
