The Arizona Diamondbacks are on their second to last road trip of the season, They got off to a good start, winning the series at AT&T Park against the San Francisco Giants.
Friday: Diamondbacks Win 3-2
Saturday: Diamondbacks Win 2-0
Sunday: Giants Win 7-2
Greinke/Ray
The Diamondbacks starters have been on an incredible run and Zack Greinke and Robbie Ray continued that.
Greinke – 8 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K
Ray – 7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 10 K
Greinke had as many hits as he gave up against the Giants on Friday. Torey Lovullo has to be comfortable with either of his aces going should they be in the Wildcard matchup.

Walker
For the first time since August 16th, Taijuan Walker took a loss and looked human. Here was his line:
5 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
The only run support provided for Walker was a J.D. (Just Dingers) two-run home run. In the stretch between losses, Walker threw the following in five starts:
33.2 IP, 29 H, 8 ER (2.17 ERA), 16 BB, 31 K, 3 W
Walker’s next start is slated for Saturday, September 23rd at home against the Marlins. He has a 9-7 record with 143.2 innings pitched and a 3.32 ERA in his first season with the Diamondbacks.
A.J. Pollock
The Diamondback centerfielder has been on a tear as of late, with two games with four RBIs against the Rockies. He continued that with a key two-RBI double on RBI. He hit 2/7 in two games with two RBIs this series.
Days Off
The Diamondbacks haven’t had an off day since September 7th – and won’t until September 21st – so Torey Lovullo found a time to give off days throughout the series to many of his key contributors. Chris Iannetta and Brandon Drury had Friday off, with Madison Bumgarner pitching on Saturday, Jake Lamb rode the pine along with Ketel Marte and A.J. Pollock sat out on Sunday. Having depth means multiple contributors, and the D-backs were able to get two wins while having multiple players sit in the series.
What’s Next
The Diamondbacks continue their road trip and head to San Diego. Pat Corbin, Zack Godley and Robbie Ray are scheduled to start the series.
