Glendale, Arizona native, Michael McDowell is no stranger to the Great American Race. The 40-year-old claimed victory in one of motorsports’ most prestigious races, the Daytona 500 in 2021.
The Great American Race is set for its 67th running on Sunday and we caught up with the AZ native as he gets ready for his first race with a new team, Spire Motorsports, while also hunting a legendary second career Daytona 500 title.
NASCAR returns to Arizona for the Shriners Children’s 500 race weekend March 7-9 and tickets are still available for all three days.
