Pinnacle High School star quarterback Spencer Rattler drafted by The New Orleans Saints in the 5th round. The four-year starter in college took more snaps with his most recent team at South Carolina than the Oklahoma Sooners. He amassed 10,807 passing yards and 77 touchdowns throughout his collegiate career.
The former featured player in QB1 on Netflix redshirted his first year at Oklahoma and then went on to have a stellar first full season in 2020 starting all 11 games for the Sooners. But after a rough start to his redshirt sophomore season, future Heisman winner Caleb Williams took over the starting role for Oklahoma forcing Rattler to enter the transfer portal.
He then chose to play for South Carolina where he started all games over the next two seasons and set a school record by completing 68.9 percent of his passes in his final year in college.
Despite a tumultuous college career, Rattler was still productive and showed glimpses of being an NFL-caliber quarterback. That all came after a record-setting high school career at Pinnacle. He’ll look for that spark as he enters this next chapter with the Saints.
