Arizona Sports News online

USC wide receiver Brenden Rice was drafted in the 7th round to the Los Angeles Chargers. The former Hamilton Husky was the 225th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

In three seasons on varsity for the Hamilton Huskies, Rice put together 1,974 rushing yards with 28 touchdowns and 115 receptions. Rice had a handful of Power 5 offers in high school before ultimately committing to the University of Colorado.

Rice played in 17 games in two seasons at Colorado where he posted 27 receptions for 419 yards with five touchdowns.

In January of 2022, Rice entered the transfer portal and found his way to USC. In his two seasons with the Trojans, he had 84 receptions for 1,402 yards with 16 touchdowns.

Brenden Rice is a name notoriously known across Arizona, as the son of NFL wide receiver Jerry Rice. Since his high school days, Brenden has made an effort to vocalize his mission to make a name for himself, rather than being recognized as the son of a Hall-of-Famer.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver has found success in every stepping stone that led to draft day. Below USC head coach Lincoln Riley spoke to Sports360AZ about Rice ahead of the 2023 season.
