ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan signed an $80-million deal with $50-million guaranteed, making it the richest contract for an NFL offensive lineman ever.
Not bad for a self-proclaimed “desert rat.”
Lewan played for Cactus Shadows and Chaparral during his prep days. He graduated from Chaparral in 2009, playing under Charlie Ragle, and went on to play for the Michigan Wolverines, joining his high school teammate Craig Roh.
From there, Lewan played four years for the Wolverines before being selected 11th overall in the 2014 NFL draft by the Titans.
The two-time Pro Bowler returned home to Arizona to play the Cardinals last season, and Sports360AZ caught up with him to talk about his upbringing and the role the Grand Canyon State played in him getting to where he is today.
