Former Chandler High School N’Keal Harry thrived in his first year at Arizona State with over 600 receiving yards and seven total touchdowns.
The similarly-built Tyler Johnson is hoping to have the same fortune with the Sun Devils.
The Highland High School tight end/defensive end committed to the Sun Devils Friday afternoon. Johnson is a 6-foot-4, 240-pound four-star recruit.

Johnson held 16 offers from the likes of Alabama, Arizona, Florida State, Michigan, UCLA, USC and Washington among others, but he ultimately chose the Sun Devils.
Johnson, the son of former NFL defensive lineman Bill Johnson, is listed as a tight end but has the speed of a wide receiver and incredible burst off the defensive line, though he has focused more on offense in his senior season.
The Sun Devils have been busy lately, picking up commitments from former Alabama quarterback Blake Barnett and Bishop Gorman defensive back Alex Perry, younger brother of current ASU DB Armand Perry.
This is ASU’s 11th commitment of the 2017 class with six of those coming from Arizona.
