Every week during the NFL season, Sports Illustrated Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.
In our most recent conversation with Michael (Oct. 26), we went over the sparse waiver-wire options available to fantasy managers this week, and which players might be attractive as speculative additions. Here is what the Hall-of-Famer had to say:
Davante Adams And Allen Lazard Are Out For Thursday’s Game With COVID-19. Who Do You Start In His Place?
Aaron Rodgers in last 6 games without Davante Adams:
• 142/202
• 1,865 yards
• 17 TDs, 1 INT
• 125.2 passer rating
• 6-0Yes this situation is very bad, but this game is still winnable.

“Randall Cobb is going to be one of the most popular adds off the waiver wire this week. He had a good game last week. Amari Rodgers will be in the mix too, and the Cardinals have been bad against wide receivers from a fantasy perspective so the matchup is actually pretty favorable. Cobb is one of those guys that you can potentially plug into your lineup and get you five catches for 60 yards and a touchdown.
The Deshaun Watson Trade Rumors Have Picked Up A Lot Lately. Is He Worth Picking Up This Week?
As we reported on 10/10….The @MiamiDolphins have offered the @HoustonTexans a trade package for #DeshaunWatson and here it is: #FinsUp #WeAreTexans #NFL
* (2) 1st Rounders
* (2) 2nd Rounders
* (1) 3rd Rounder— #BigSilz (@DanSileoShow) October 26, 2021
“I get that it’s a very sensitive subject, but if Deshaun Watson is a starting quarterback in the National Football League and the league allows him to play, people are going to want to pick him up and play him. Bottom line, right or wrong. If he gets traded, and it looks like there’s a good chance he’s going to get traded, people will pick up Deshaun Watson and will play him on their fantasy teams. If you want him, you have to put in a claim now.”
Aside From Those Two Players, The Waiver Wire Is Looking Pretty Bare This Week. Who Do You Have Your Eye On?

“Kenneth Gainwell, maybe you’d pick him up because Miles Sanders is banged up. Boston Scott will be in the mix there as well. You can go out and get maybe Brandon Bolden from New England, who had a really good game this past week against the Jets. They’ve got the Chargers this week and you can run the ball on the Chargers. There’s not a whole heck of a lot to like on the waiver wire this week.”
