Diana Taurasi has been many things on the basketball court: national champion, Olympian, gold medalist, WNBA champion.
Add another title for the Phoenix Mercury guard: WNBA all-time leading scorer.
Taurasi passed Los Angeles Spark Tina Thompson, who scored 7,488 points in her 17-year career, to become the league’s leading scorer.

This isn’t the first league record that has fallen at the hands of Taurasi this year – she became the league’s leading three-point shooter earlier this month as well.
What’s Next
The Mercury will honor Taurasi at home on June 30th when Phoenix hosts the Minnesota Lynx. The Phoenix Mercury are 6-4 and fifth in the WNBA.
Taurasi is seventh in scoring this season at 18.2 points per game, while her teammate, Brittney Griner is leading the league with 24.1 points per game. The Mercury and Los Angeles Sparks are the only two teams in the league with two players in the top-10 in scoring this season.
