On Thursday morning, Diamondbacks President and CEO Derrick Hall participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their latest community outreach, the Open Hearts Family Wellness’ “The Diamond.”
It’s an 11-unit housing complex created to provide a safe space and life training skills to six un housed families, and at least four individuals.
The facility was donated by the Arizona Department of Housing and program operations were funded by the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation’s $1 million gift. The name “The Diamond” is a nod to its connection to the team as well as a nod to the multi-faceted approach to health and healing.
