It was a laid back environment at the Toyota Sports Center in Los Angeles on Friday where the Coyotes had an optional skate.
Ten players showed including Martin Hanzal, who had to sit out Game 3 because of being suspended, and Adrian Aucoin who has been sidelined with an injury since Game 5 of the Nashville series.
“It is always tough when you are out and can’t help your teammates win,” state Hanzal on Friday. “I thought they played pretty good and now we have to focus on game four.”
“I think today was a re-generation day, most of the guys are taking a day off,” explained Coyotes forward Gilbert Brule. “The guys that didn’t play much or didn’t play today are getting to skate and get a good workout in.”
It has been a frustrating series for Phoenix to say the least but the team is trying to block that frustration and zone in on one complete effort for game four.
“All season long, every time we put ourselves in a whole or put ourselves behind the eight ball we’ve done a good job of recovering,” mentioned Kyle Chipchura on Friday. “This is totally different , this is something a lot harder. But we’re not going to roll over and die. We’re going to still go out there and fight until the last buzzer, until it’s over.”
The entire Coyotes team will take the ice for practice on Saturday as they will scheme to make one final push at keeping their season alive.
