Arizona State will have a battle on their hands when they host No. 7 Texas Tech on Saturday.
They will also be without some key contributors for that game and the rest of the way.
Kenny Dillingham confirmed 7th-year offensive lineman Ben Coleman and senior linebacker Zyrus Fiaseu will be out for the year. Quarterback Sam Leavitt is considered day-to-day and safety X Alford will be out for some time.
Coleman is out of remaining eligibility and was playing this year due to a medical redshirt. His Sun Devil career – at least on the field – has come to an end. Dillingham said Fiaseu went through a season-ending procedure and a medical waiver will be filed for him to potentially gain another year of eligibility.
Alford has bene out since the Mississippi State game with an undisclosed injury.
Leavitt was in attendance for the Utah game and was in a walking boot. He practiced last Tuesday and Wednesday when media was able to attend practice, but he was limited his movement according to Dillingham.
Running back Kyson Brown was available for the game against Utah, but Dillingham said the team was cautious to have him play in the rainy conditions and potentially reaggravate his ankle injury from earlier this year.
The Sun Devils have focused on adding depth the past few seasons, and that will be tested here the rest of the way, not only on the field but off it
