The Open 8
- (3-0) Liberty
- (3-0) Basha
- (3-0) Hamilton
- (3-0) Chandler
- (3-0) Red Mountain – They are the talk of the state currently. Red Mountain has impressed many opposing coaches who have either played them or watched them on Hudl. They are my front-runners to win the East Valley region.
- (3-0) Highland – Class of 2026 DB, Grady Crandall, is easily one of the best football players in 6A. Hawks senior tailback, Kash Allen, has racked up over 540 total yards and is averaging close to 10 yards per carry. Big matchup looming vs the Chandler Wolves in a few weeks.
- (3-0) Brophy – They have beaten three good teams and their non-region gauntlet continues this week as they travel to Perry to take on the undefeated Pumas.
- (3-0) ALA Queen Creek
6A Top 10 (Open Teams excluded)
- (0-3) Centennial – Probably won’t make the Open Division now, but once they get healthy + their transfers become eligible, they will be the favorite to win the 6A Conference title.
- (2-1) Williams Field – Head Coach Steve Campbell is a top-50 AZHSFB head coach in the state. He might be #50, but he deserves to be on that list. The Williams Field secondary came away with four interceptions in last week’s win over Mountain Ridge.
- (3-0) Perry – Perry’s LB core is very good. Seniors Maddox Ford and Jackson Sands are flying to the ball. That’s been one of my favorite groups to watch on tape this season.
- (2-1) Pinnacle
- (2-1) Mountain Pointe
- (2-1) Queen Creek
- (2-1) Mountain View
- (1-2) Casteel
- (1-1) Salpointe Catholic
- (2-1) Chavez – Senior WRs Nevin Reed and Peyton Stokes are both averaging over 100 yards receiving per game. The duo has a combined for six touchdowns through the first three weeks of the season for the Champions.
5A Top 10
- (3-0) Marana – The new kings of 5A! Marana has both the early Coach of the Year and MVP candidates in their program.
- (2-1) Higley
- (3-0) Horizon
- (3-0) Notre Dame Prep – The Saints are swarming to the ball carrier on defense. That’s an impressive group who has a couple sophomores starting on that unit as well. Really well-coached team.
- (3-0) Desert Mountain
- (1-2) Desert Edge
- (2-1) Cactus
- (2-1) ALA Gilbert North
- (2-1) Kellis
- (3-0) McClintock
