The 2017 recruiting class came and went in a flash, with over 80 Arizona players earning Division I scholarships. Now that the class of 2017 has put pen to paper, the class of 2018 is ready to shine.
Here are a few guys you may hear about often in the next recruiting cycle:
Solomon Enis, WR, North Canyon
When you think of football powers, North Canyon may not be a school that pops in your head first. BUT they had a turnaround season under Jose Lucero with five-star offensive tackle and USC commit Austin Jackson leading the way, and wide receiver Solomon Enis is a player returning that will get similar attention that Jackson received. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound wideout hauled in over 1,100 yards and ten touchdowns in 2016. Enis already holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA and Vanderbilt with many, many more to come.
Jawhar Jordan, RB, Hamilton
Jordan may be the most explosive player in the state, and when he gets a touch, he has the capability to bring it for six every time. As a sophomore, the running back had 90 carries for 458 yards and four touchdowns. In 2016, he doubled his carries and tripled his production, running for 1,269 yards and 17 touchdowns on 175 carries (7.3 ypc). Jordan has offers from Idaho, New Mexico State and Oklahoma State.
Joey Ramos, OT, Deer Valley
It seems like we name Ramos weekly in the recruiting roundup as the offensive tackle has received offers from Arizona, Cal, Iowa State, Nebraska and Utah. The Skyhawks have quite a few playmakers coming up over the coming years, and the 6-foot-4, 272-pound tackle will be leading the way.
Gunner Romney, WR, Chandler
Jack Plummer, QB, Gilbert
The Gilbert quarterback threw for 2,475 and 18 touchdowns as a junior. Along with Hamilton’s Tyler Shough, Plummer is a QB who could get some looks from big programs with Boise State and New Mexico State already offering the 6-foot-5, 185-pound junior.
Ralph Frias, OT, Safford
Safford has a big recruit in the 2018 class. No, really, like BIG. Frias is one of the top linemen returning to the high school football scene this year, and the 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive tackle hold offers from New Mexico State, and Arizona State has expressed interest as well.
