Moving to the 6A conference just a few years ago, Casteel has earned the title of state champions after defeating Centennial High School in an action-packed 42-27 win.
First-year head coach Joe Bushman stepped into the role and introduced a new team mantra.
“We have this montra, it’s called pound the rock, it’s about a stone cutter hitting its rock repeatedly, and it doesn’t break.”
Junior quarterback Tee Smith showed his versatility throughout the game, adding touchdowns to the scoreboard by rushing, passing, and receiving.
Potential dagger!! @CasteelFootball with some trickery here as Senior Max Kane takes the fly sweep and throws it back to QB @Teesmithjrone who walks into the end zone for a TD. Casteel leads Centennial 35-21 7:10 in the 4th Q @JoeBushman5 pic.twitter.com/193fyVtwD3
