Brophy Wide Receiver Devin Fitzgerald Commits to Notre Dame

Notre Dame’s latest commitment comes with name recognition and a solid resume.

6-foot- 2, 205-pound wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald from Brophy College Prep made his commitment to the Fighting Irish on Saturday afternoon.

The son of NFL Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald, has been making a name for himself in his time at Brophy, under head coach Jason Jewell. Last season, Devin recorded 52 receptions for 720 yards and 9 touchdowns, serving as the leading receiver for Brophy Prep.

Sports360AZ recruiting analyst Cody Cameron spoke about his development in his junior season for the Broncos.

“Devin really grew as a WR last year for the Brophy offense and truly elevated his game against some of the state’s best teams. He has great size paired with sharp cuts out of his breaks. Watching him in-person a few times last year, you saw him excel at utilizing that frame to shield off defensive backs to make contested catches in traffic. He became a go-to target for Brophy QB Case Vanden Bosch late in the year, and I fully expect the two to put up monster numbers for their upcoming senior season. I’m happy for Devin, he has earned this moment!”

Fitzgerald held offers from several other elite programs, including from Arizona State. His top four schools included Clemson, Stanford and UCLA but he ultimately chose Notre Dame to continue his football career.

It’s become a trend for rising seniors to make their verbal commitments ahead of the school year — allowing them to lock in their college future so they can focus on high school football. The Brophy Broncos have their sights set on their season-opener against the Basha Bears on Aug. 28 — a matchup that expects to draw a lot of attention is State 48. As one of the recruits with the most buss in the state, eyes will be set on duo Case Vanden Bosch and Devin Fitzgerald in the 2025 season.
