After leading Arizona State men’s basketball to a 23-13 record along with a NCAA tournament appearance, head coach Bobby Hurley has signed a contract extension to 2026.
“Coach Hurley has made our program relevant nationally with many significant wins and an exciting style, along with a firm commitment to the academic success of our student-athletes,” ASU athletics director Ray Anderson said in a statement. “He has made it clear to us that he wants to be here and we have done likewise with him. We share a strong confidence in the present and future state of Sun Devil Men’s Basketball.”

Hurley’s teams have posted a 141-116 record over eight years with three NCAA tournament appearances. It was also very likely that the Sun Devils would have made the 2020 NCAA tournament, but it was canceled days before selection Sunday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After a two-year span where the Sun Devils went 25-27 between the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, Hurley and the program were back on track this past year. A big factor to that change this year’s team featured a roster Hurley could identify with.
Many of the key contributors could return, and Hurley has been effective in recruiting via the transfer portal with additions like the Cambridge brothers, Frankie Collins and Warren Washington in the last cycle.
