ASU Road, Ayton to-the-Max? H.S. Football Player of the Year

Arizona Sports News online

The combined record of the remaining teams on the Arizona State Football schedule is 14-16.

Two years ago, I was in the elements in Salt Lake City with my Sports360az teammate Eric Sorenson. The Sun Devils were feeling pretty good about themselves heading into the matchup with the Utah Utes. It was a cold rainy late afternoon matchup that turned into a rather easy Utah victory. The Utes pounded ASU into submission 21-3, and it wasn’t even that close. Jayden Daniels had one of his worst statistical games in a Sun Devil uniform, completing just 4 of 18 passes without a touchdown. The loss sent Arizona State down the road to one of their usual bowl landing spots, El Paso. So here we are two years later with fans talking confidently about a January game for the Sun Devils in the Rose Bowl for the first time in 25 years. Here we are with Utah hosting ASU next Saturday night with plenty on the line. Looking at the remaining schedule for the Sun Devils, I don’t see a team that has a roster as talented as Herm Edwards squad. It sets up for a terrific Saturday night matchup on the Utes home turf…

Interesting result from an extensive NBA General Manager’s  survey released this past week

Ayton’s max contract was in full discussion this past week. GM’s aren’t convinced he’s ready to break out? The Suns have every right to take this down to the October 18th deadline. If you’re on the side of the street that Robert Sarver is pulling another Joe Johnson, then expect a mass exodus throughout the organization at some point because there are too many good basketball people down on 201 E. Jefferson St. Take a step back on all of this, let’s see what happens over the next nine days…

With the Suns players doing such a good job of encouraging fans to come watch the Mighty Mercury play, could we see attendance records for the Merc during this title series against Chicago? I would like to think so. Nice job by Ayton for purchasing 500 WNBA title tickets…

Halfway through the high school football season, programs like Basha, Horizon, and Cactus are looking like Open Division worthy squads. Best all-around player i’ve seen in person so far is Porter Reynolds at Queen Creek. Player of the Year is wide, wide open. No one player stands head and shoulders above the rest…
