ASU Flips Offensive Lineman Semisi Tonga from Oklahoma State

Arizona Sports News online

Salt Lake City West (Utah) offensive lineman Semisi Tonga had been committed to Oklahoma State since October.

On Tuesday, he announced he was flipping to Arizona State.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pound interior offensive lineman holds offers from Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico State, Oregon, UCLA, UNLV, Utah, Utah State and Washington State in addition to the Sun Devils and Cowboys.

Tonga was a part of a West offense that averaged 241 rushing yards per game according to MaxPreps.

He joins Champ Westbrooks as offensive line commits for the Sun Devils in the 2024 class.

Offensive line was top priority for the Sun Devils as they head into the second year of the Kenny Dillingham era. It was a group that was affected by injury throughout the season, forcing certain players to play out of their natural position and young players to jump into the fire earlier than anticipated.

The Sun Devils have not added any offensive line transfers publiclty yet, but multiple lineman have been on campus as the group looks to be revamped.

Former Notre Dame Prep offensive lineman Cade Bennett was on a visit last weekend and opted to go to TCU. Michigan State offensive lineman Ethan Boyd was in the portal but withdrew his name after visiting Arizona State.

The position group will be a continued point of emphasis as the offseason progresses.
