Friday night I went out to see Basha quarterback Ryan Kelley in person. I’ve seen him play several times the last two years, but I had heard that UCLA and Arizona State were going to drop in on the game, so I decided to do the same.
Todd Graham and ASU recruiting coordinator Chip Long came by helicopter for part of the game, UCLA quarterback coach Taylor Mazzone was there too.
I saw Kelley in person a few weeks back against Chandler. He did the best possible under the circumstances. Perry is not Chandler or Hamilton, but in a backyard rivalry game, Kelley didn’t disappoint.
Basha won easily 56-28 and Kelley put on a show.
