ASU Adds Elite 2026 Tight End Commit Israel Briggs

While it’s signing day for the 2025 class on Wednesday, Arizona State football received some good news for their 2026 class by earning the commitment of Israel Briggs.

Briggs, a 6-foot-4.5, 200-pound tight end out of Visalia, CA, is the No. 6 tight end prospect and No. 67 overall prospect for the 2026 class according to 247 Sports.

According to the recruiting service, he holds 25 offers including ones from Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

National Recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins broke down Briggs’ game:

He totaled 44 catches for 571 yards and eight touchdowns and you can see the basketball background in his game as he’s a fluid athlete who wins 50-50 balls and is able to easily track the ball down the field. He runs well after the catch, can make defenders miss in the open field and is a willing blocker as well with a nice edge in his game.

This is the second tight end of the 2026 class that have joined the Sun Devils. Thousand Oaks tight end Hayden Vercher committed on Sunday. Tight ends coach Jason Mohns has been able to revamp the position room over recent years, bringing in Chamon Metayer and Cameron Harpole via the portal last cycle, as well as Kentucky transfer Khamari Anderson. Through the prep ranks, he’s brought in Jayden Fortier, AJ Ia and now Briggs & Vercher for the 2026 class.
