Arizona shooting guard Josh Green took advantage of his one year in Tucson and was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the 18th overall pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft.
Green averaged 12 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game last season for the Wildcats.
ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas had this to say about Green:
“An athletic player that is quick and strong. He can also defend at a high level. He’s got the ability to switch off and guard multiple positions, which is so valuable in the NBA. He can contain the bounce and one of the things I like best about Josh Green is he fights through screens.”
Green is the first of three potential Wildcats selected in the draft. Guard Nico Mannion and forward Zeke Nnaji are also hoping to be selected on Wednesday.
