Arizona Players on Full Display with USC Football

The USC Trojans come to Tempe on Saturday, and for many top players, it can be a homecoming.

Whether it’s prep recruiting or the transfer portal, Lincoln Riley has targeted the state to get some of the top talent to Los Angeles.

Brenden Rice, Anthony Lucas, Jacobe Covington, Duce Robinson, Daniel Jimenez-Fulton, Elijah Paige, Andrew Milek, Ja’Kobi Lane and Dorian Singer all played their prep ball in Arizona.

Lincoln Riley gave Sports360AZ the inside scoop on some of these players:

Duce Robinson, Freshman Tight End

The five-star Pinnacle tight end and star baseball player is already finding the field consistently early in his career. He committed to USC this past offseason in one of the most unique recruitments Riley has experienced:

Brenden Rice, Senior Wide Receiver

The former Hamilton & Colorado wide receiver transferred to USC and is his second season with the Trojans. He came on strong at the end of the season last year and tallied 39 catches for 611 yards and four touchdowns. He is a consistent go-to for Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams:

Anthony Lucas, Sophomore Defensive Lineman

The top player in Arizona in the class of 2022, the Chaparral standout started his career at Texas A&M. He is a game-changer along the defensive line, and Riley is excited for what’s to come for the former Firebird:

Jacobe Covington, Redshirt Junior Defensive Back

The Saguaro Sabercat was a part of Arizona’s best recruiting class ever in the class of 2020. He committed to Washington and transferred to USC two years ago. He’s a long athlete and an absolute ball-hawk in the secondary.

Riley only had time to give updates on these four players, but it’s clear Arizona has a big impact on the roster. Singer was a prolific transfer from the University of Arizona, and Lane has found the field early as well as a dynamic playmaker. Paige and Milek have seen time along the offensive line as well.
