What a difference a year makes.
Arizona Wildcat football was unquestionably one of the worst programs in the nation when Jedd Fisch took over in 2021. A year later, the Wildcats put together a complete effort in blowing out San Diego State 38-20, spoiling the Aztecs opening of their new stadium.
The Wildcats dominated the contest from start to finish, rolling up 461 yards of total offense and forcing out San Diego State starting quarterback Braxton Burmeister. Quarterback Jayden DeLaura finsihed the day 22-35-299 and 4 touchdowns.
The Wildcats’ defense held the hometown Aztecs to just 232 yards of offense.
"This is 2022, don't look back."
In the 2nd quarter, Arizona committed turnovers on consecutive drives. But, the Wildcats didn't let that weigh on the next plays and ended up forcing a turnover to gain momentum back, unlike in years past. @Sports360AZ pic.twitter.com/9Gv35f1jhh

“All wins feel good”, Fisch told CBS after the game.
Arizona will open its home schedule next Saturday night, taking on Mississippi State at Arizona Stadium.
