In today’s football world, some of the top NFL players, college coaches and pro football executives got their starts at Chaparral High School.
For the last 23 years, public address announcer Mark Carroll has had a front row seat watching those standouts plus countless other success stories within the program.
With his long-time running mate Matt Kleifield, Carroll adds to the in-game experience for Chaparral, bringing energy, humor and a carefully curated playlist to the Friday Night Lights.
And now, Carroll gets to watch his son, Trace Carroll, lead the program as the head coach of the Firebirds.
He sat down with Sports360AZ to talk about his time behind the mic, the history he’s witnessed and what he hopes to bring to the program.
