2024 Cardinals Training Camp: Day 2

“We set up camp with three things in mind – Health, Development, Evaluation.”

Cardinals second-year head coach Jonathan Gannon was all smiles throughout the pre-practice press conference – clearly fired up about coaching this squad.

He even leaves his office door open so the guys can drop in to talk ball or just to chat.

“I love when players talk cause I learn when players talk to the team,” Gannon said. “Best part of the job is the players.”

Players understand what’s being looked at, valued, and expected on both the slow days and fast days of camp.

As fans prepare themselves for the Kyler Murray-Marvin Harrison Jr connection, Gannon discussed opening up the playbook in his second season:

“We did what we felt we needed to do to try and win…now we tweak it…what are we gonna need that we wish we had for year two…most important part is…the new players that we have – what are they comfortable with? What are the skills that they have? Those are the plays we’ll be calling.”

Also, a congratulations is in order for rookie DL Darius Robinson, who completed his Master’s degree from Missouri. That degree was the main reason he stayed an extra year in college and now he has more time to focus on his main football goal (outside of bringing a Super Bowl to Arizona): Winning Rookie of the Year.
