Preps Westview rolls over Basha 60-44; moves to second round of playoffs Sports360AZ Posted February 16, 2012 at 4:07 pm Share Tweet Share The first round of the Division I Girls State Basketball Tournament started on Wednesday. For the #24 seeded Basha Lady Bears, they wish it never began. Basha hit the road and traveled to #9 seeded Westview High School to take on the Lady Knights. They were down 12-4 early in the game and never recovered, losing 60-44. The Lady Bears came out of the gate with a case of “what do we do?” Their play was sloppy, as they committed turnover after turnover, allowing Westview to get the big lead early. Westview coasted the rest of the way for the win. It was the Lady Knights 26th win of the season, and eighth win in nine home games. The Lady Bears end the season 15-13. Westview advances to the second round of the tournament, and will travel to Chandler on Friday night to take on the Lady Wolves. The game is at 7 p.m. Related posts: AZ Audibles: Charlie Ragle to Cal, Chandler to Host IMG GALLERY: Desert Ridge Baseball vs Copper Canyon Chad DeGrenier New Mesa High Head Coach My Story: San Diego State Signee Nassir Sims Share Tweet Share
