Brian Ward only spent one year at Washington State, but the defensive coordinator made an impact on the field and in the locker room. 

Under Ward’s watch, the Cougars were third in the Pac-12 in scoring defense and fourth in sacks. Ward’s defense centered around controlled chaos to make opposing offenses off-balance and playing on their heels.

At Pac-12 Football Media Day, Sports360AZ caught up with Washington State defensive lineman Ron Stone Jr., who played under Ward in 2022. He gave insight on Ward’s scheme and how he delivers his message to his players.
