The saying goes “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
The Sunnyslope Vikings took that to heart. Running back Jeff Goebel set the tone for the 9-1 Vikings in the regular season, rushing for nearly 1,500 yards and 22 touchdowns in Division III. The 5-foot-8 senior got his number called frequently in the team’s first round matchup against Vista Grande.
After three touchdowns in the first half and a dominating performance by the defense, Sunnyslope won their opening round matchup 35-8.
The Vikings will take on the twelfth-seeded Bradshaw Mountain, who upset Arcadia 21-15, in the second round.
