VIDEO – F1: The Movie Spoiler Free Reviews

Sports360AZ got an advanced screening of F1: The Movie at Harkins IMAX at Arizona Mills and members of the team gave their *spoiler free* thoughts on the film.

Jordan Hamm:

“F1 is a non-stop wild ride. See it on the biggest screen you can and with a crowd. There’s some Top Gun: Maverick in it and some Moneyball in it as well. If you like either of those movies, you’ll probably like this. I hope they make another Oceans film and add Javier Bardem to the crew because he has incredible chemistry with Brad Pitt. Damson Idris also goes punch for punch with Pitt and more than holds his own.”

Jordan Spurgeon:

“This movie does a great job drawing you into the action of every race scene. The cinematography & creative editing make every moment in the car feel epic and real. The story is simple yet interesting enough to not slow the pace of the film down.”

Eliav Gabay:

“Brad Pitt was Brad Pitt – delivering as he always does. Damson Idris and Pitt played off each other masterfully. Natural rapport.

The film was witty with a lot of depth and heart. The cinematography was out of this world.

Overall solid character development – not just the stars – but the smaller roles as well. We really got a chance to fall in love with each of them throughout the movie.

Everyone loves a good romance…while perhaps expected, it was natural and gradual, not forced. Pitt & Kerry Condon’s chemistry popped off the screen.

Whether you’re a big fan of Formula One or not, there’s something for everyone.

Loved seeing the actual F1 drivers in their element. If you do have some F1 knowledge, there are several moments you’ll point at the screen and go “Ahhh I see what they did there” in terms of referencing actual F1 moments in history through certain action scenes.

Felt so real that there were times it was almost like watching a long episode of Drive to Survive, the Formula One Netflix docuseries.

I understand why some drivers mentioned certain elements were a bit unrealistic, but that’s the Hollywood part of this whole thing, and it wasn’t overdone.

It was interesting to see how the writers had to use actual F1 strategy as an integral part of the story; car design, tire usage, or getting a glimpse of the incredible tech these teams use to get a leg up.

As we left the packed theater, I could overhear people around me saying how great of a movie it was & that it blew past their expectations.

Run time is 2:36 and Director Joseph Kosinski utilized every second wisely. Highly recommend watching in IMAX or 4DX.”
