VIDEO: Elijah Paige Breaks Down Notre Dame Commitment

Elijah Paige’s official visit to South Bend was all he needed to make his decision clear. The Pinnacle offensive tackle made his commitment to Notre Dame official on June 10, less than a week from returning from his visit.

The 6-foot-7, 305-pound Pinnacle Pioneer had 34 offers to choose from but his decision came down to the combination of top-tier football and prestigious academics. Elijah has more visits scheduled for the summer but canceled them after his visit to the Fighting Irish.

“There’s nowhere else you’re gonna get that high academics and they compete for a national championship every year,” Paige said. “There’s not a lot of places you’re gonna find like that and I just think it’s a good fit for me.”

Elijah said that he had a good relationship with the Notre Dame coaching staff and the relationship only got better on the visit. Paige speaks with some of the coaches regularly and they spent time assessing him as a player and going over film on his visit.

“Every time I talk to coach Freeman it’s high energy, smiling, and it’s the same thing with coach Hiestand and the whole staff over there,” Paige said.

Paige thanked his parents, coaches and teammates for their support and efforts throughout his life and football career to this point.
