VIDEO – ALA GN Wide Receiver Brandon Phelps Breaks Two State Records

On Friday evening Brandon Phelps broke two state records previously set by Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk. With three possible state records to break, Phelps says there was a lot of pressure heading into ALA Gilbert North’s game against Higley. While the Eagles didn’t come up with the win, Phelps posted over 4,000 receiving yards in the matchup and broke Kirk’s receiving yards record (previously 3,946). He also broke the state touchdown record (also previously set by Kirk, 51) after scoring two touchdowns against Higley. 

Now Phelps is chasing a successful season with his team and a total catches record, previously set by Kade Warner (241) at  Desert Mountain. The Eagles next game is Friday at home against Cactus Shadows.
