UArizona Adaptive Athletics Continue to Grow Paralympic Pedigree

One of the most successful athletics programs at the University of Arizona is a group of stars you may have never heard of.

The UArizona Adaptive Atheltics Program has been around for 40 years and has sent 38 athletes to the Paralympic games, including 15 former and current athletes for the 2020 Tokyo Games. The program houses seven competitive teams and continues to grow, making them the largest collegiate-based program in the country and the third largest producer of Paralympians in the nation.

From May 19-22, the track team made their way to the Desert Challenge Games in Mesa, hosted by Arizona Disabled Sports, as members of their team continue their quest to the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

Arizona native, Devon Henry, joined the Sports360AZ crew in 2018 after graduating from Arizona State's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication. Devon has avidly partaken in coverage of the Arizona high school sports scene since 2013 and has covered NASCAR and INDYCAR at Phoenix Raceway since 2017. Devon is also a play-by-play announcer, calling over a dozen different sports and hundreds of events.
