Wisconsin native, Ty Majeski, dominated the field at Phoenix Raceway to not only earn his first career win at the Avondale track but also to claim his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship.

Majeski led 132 of 150 laps at one-mile Phoenix Raceway, and when the race-ending 27-lap green-flag run finally came, Majeski pulled away to a 3.945-second victory over Corey Heim, who recovered from a restart violation to finish second.

“This is so much fun racing with this group. I’m so proud to have the opportunity to drive these great race trucks. There’s a lot of times in my career when this looked like a far dream. Duke and Rhonda really gave me my third opportunity after I had two opportunities that failed—man, I can’t thank them enough.”

This title is the third championship for ThorSport Racing in the past four seasons. Fellow Championship 4 contestants, Corey Heim would have to settle for second, Christian Eckes in third, and Grant Enfinger finished fifth. But none of them could find a way to keep up with the speed of Majeski.

NASCAR Championship Weekend continues in Avondale with the NASCAR Xfinity Series title race on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. MST on CW7 Arizona. The weekend of championships concludes on Sunday with the NASCAR Cup Series.
