Toothgap…

Arizona Sports News online

A toothless Tiger is the latest story that is going to cause a major ruckus next week at the WM Phoenix Open. Woods was in Italy to see girlfriend Lindsey Vonn win her 63rd World Cup race over the weekend. According to Woods agent, a camera knocked Woods’ tooth out, while he was at the awards podium.

However, the organizers of the event, said that this was news to them. “I was among those who escorted him from the tent to the snowmobile and there was no such incident,” Nicola Colli, the secretary-general of the race organizing committee told the AP.

So what REALLY happened?

A couple of thoughts here…

I don’t know if the WM Phoenix Open Chairman Danny Calihan has access to a snowmobile, but we have to believe that helicopters and all cool forms of transportation are going to be provided to Woods next week when he is playing in the Open for the first time since 2001.

I have to believe that the media circus around Woods’ tooth will only grow with the fringe outlets who are going to be in town to “cover” Super Bowl media day on Tuesday. I am trying to image the photo gallery around Woods on the first tee for round one.

Next week will be like none other…
