Three Dot Thoughts – Is Kyler 2024 QB1 in Arizona? Rising FC wins the title, Wildcats and bowl games…

The Cardinals are far more interesting with Kyler Murray on the field. Sunday was filled with the usual ups and downs that we’ve seen out of the Cardinals’ electric(at times) quarterback since being drafted first overall in 2019. His 4th quarter 13-yard scramble and the ability to find Trey McBride deep after that are why, at the moment, you have to believe that keeping Murray in Arizona is the best move. Keep Kyler or trade Kyler? Use the high first-round pick next April on a quarterback or find that Nick Bosa type to have on the defensive side of the ball. There’s no question that the conversation around Kyler and what the Cardinals should do will keep those behind microphones and laptops busy until the new NFL calendar hits in March 2024. I’d like to see it work out for him here rather than the Cardinals having to invest their plethora of draft picks next April on a QB.

Nicely done by Phoenix Rising FC. The little soccer franchise that could win a USL title on Sunday night. Once upon a time in my career, I was the play-by-play voice of the franchise when they were known as Arizona United. I wanted to help in any way possible to promote the sport. A championship on the soccer pitch is the same as the Diamondbacks and Mercury winning in their respective sports. I don’t want to hear about “minor league” or “second tier.” A title is a title. Congrats to the ownership group that has hung in. Will the success on the field ever lead to an MLS franchise? Find an indoor facility that fits 20K, and you will probably get a positive answer. But maybe having a USL team in Phoenix is the right way. It’s tough enough to find sponsorship dollars for the four pro sports teams.

With Jim Harbaugh suspended at Michigan and Jimbo Fischer shown the door at Texas A&M, I wonder just how crazy the coaching carousel will spin over the next month. Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch’s name will appear on some lists(Not A&M or Michigan). He’s been a turnaround guy in Tucson. No small feat…

I have to believe that the bowl game that the Fiesta puts on December 27th has some idea of trying to attract the Wildcats. Horse trading needs to be done…

Suns lose to OKC Sunday night. Are you worried? Me, either. Devin, please keep missing games. See you in March when you’re 100 percent…

Duke vs Arizona Friday night delivered. College basketball is far more entertaining than the pro game in November…
