The Rock & DJ Khaled Characterize Daytona’s Aura

DAYTONA BEACH – Everyone knows the prestige of The Great American Race.

As the 2024 Daytona 500 prepares to fire engines tomorrow following a rainy Sunday, two dignitaries attending the event had the opportunity to express the allure of this legendary race track.

The Miami-based radio hype man turned high-profile music DJ and producer, DJ Khaled, was selected as the Honorary Starter for the 66th running of the Daytona 500. The longtime South Florida resident has deep ties to the area and the Daytona Beach race track growing up.

Actor, wrestler, producer, and UFL co-owner, Dywane “The Rock” Johnson, also has deep ties to South Florida from his days as a football player for the University of Miami.

The 66th running of the Daytona 500 is scheduled to take the green flag at 4:00 p.m. ET on Monday.

The series returns to Phoenix Raceway for the Shriners Children’s 500 weekend March 8-10, tickets are still available for all three days of action. Plus, NASCAR Championship Weekend returns to Phoenix Raceway to crown four champions in three days November 8-10.
