That’s A Wrap: Keim and Arians Recap Day 2

Arizona Sports News online

Steve Keim David Johnson’s success at the Senior Bowl:

“Like John Brown did last year at the East-West game, it gives you a little more confidence because you’re not seeing them go against lower competition.  You’re seeing them against the best in the country. To be able to see them in practice, not just the game, but in practice with the different types of drills that we do and the way they create mismatches, it really helps us.”

Bruce Arians on David Johnson:

“His tape speaks for itself. This guy, at his size and speed…he is a pick and slide guy. He’s got a lot of power, but his receiving ability is about as close to (Andre Ellington’s) as anybody I’ve seen. He reminds me a lot of Matt Forte coming out of Tulane, maybe a little faster.”

Bruce Arians on Missouri pass rushers:

“When you keep studying Shane Ray, and you keep saying,’Who the hell is Shane Ray? Oh, he must be an underclassman.’ No, this guy is a senior and he is a balls to the wall player. I love the way he plays.”

Steve Keim on Markus Golden’s resume:

“Markus Golden is a guy who jumps off the tape with his chase, with his motor. To me, from a size and movement standpoint, he’s a lot like LaMarr Woodley coming out. He plays with great leverage.”

“At the end of the day this guy was extremely productive in the SEC, played against some of the top tackles and gave them fits. Then, he went down to the Senior Bowl and looked just as good against the top competition in the country.”
