Stevie Rocker Remaining Patient, Persistent in Recruitment

Arizona Sports News online

Tucson has a good history of running backs.

Canyon del Oro’s Stevie Rocker has already been tabbed by Salpointe’s Bijan Robinson as the next in line at the position.

Rocker is coming off a season where he was hampered by injuries after his breakout sophomore season, but still has the attention of some top West Coast schools.

He currently holds offers from Arizona, Cal, BYU and Nevada. He said he’s been talking to the likes of Washington, Fresno State and West Virginia. He had planned to check out Boise State, Oklahoma and Notre Dame before the pandemic hit. He plans to make his commitment after his senior season.

Despite being limited to six games last year, he rushed for 1,534 yards on 213 carries (7.2 yards per carry) and 16 total touchdowns in his two years of varsity experience.

While he continues to work this offseason, he’s said he’s added five pounds of muscle since last season – something colleges were hoping to see out of him as he preps for a season.

He breaks down his recruitment, what he learned from overcoming an injury and his plans moving forward in the video above.
