Scottsdale resident and silver screen actor, Frankie Muniz, begins a new chapter of his life in the world of motorsports.
The actor best known for roles in Malcolm in the Middle, Agent Cody Banks, and Big Fat Liar, will be looking to earn his Racing Stripes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. For the first time since dipping his toes into NASCAR in 2023, Muniz will be racing a full-time NASCAR season as he steps into a Ford F-150 for the Reaume Brothers Racing team.
Muniz’s racing itch began in 2004 during a Toytoa Pro / Celebrity race. He competed in the event five times with a best finish of third in 2005. The 39-year-old has run six NASCAR races so far between the Xfinity and Truck Series as well as 22 starts in the ARCA Series. Even though he’s starting in the NASCAR developmental series, the movie star has more dreams of racing in NASCAR’s premier Cup Series one day.
The first race in the actor’s new chapter of being a full-time driver begins at Daytona, where he not only made his ARCA and NASCAR debuts over the past two years but also drove in the pace car before the 2001 Daytona 500. Friday’s Fresh From Florida 250 marks race one of a 25-race schedule.
Muniz concludes his first full-time NASCAR season at the Truck Series Championship race, part of NASCAR Championship Weekend at Phoenix Raceway, on Oct. 31. NASCAR returns to Arizona for the Shriners Children’s 500 race weekend March 7-9.
