After losing a series to the Chicago Cubs, the Arizona Diamondbacks rattled off four straight wins and leading the way for much of Sunday’s game. Despite a bullpen implosion, the Snakes still played well enough to win the series.

Friday – Diamondbacks win 10-9
Saturday – Diamondbacks win 9-2
Sunday – Rockies win 8-7

Ketel One…Or Two

Ketel Marte’s versatility was a big topic coming into the season with his ability to man the middle infield and center field, but his versatility at the plate came up big this weekend as well. In Friday’s game, Marte clubbed two home runs from both sides of the plate and drove in four in the 10-9 slugfest. It’s the third time of his career where he’s accomplished that in a game and he now leads the team with nine home runs.

Weaving a Gem

Luke Weaver had arguably his best start as a D-back on Saturday. He threw seven innings, his longest outing yet, and gave up one run while striking out eight. He has now lowered his ERA to 3.29 on the year. He is continuing his solid numbers on the road with a 2.28 ERA and three wins away from Chase Field. In addition to Weaver’s solid outing, his battery-mate and former Cardinals teammate Carson Kell hit his first career home run on Saturday night.

Fogo Power goes to Denver

If you didn’t see our Sports360AZ investigation on Eduardo Escobar and Fogo de Chao, our findings displayed that the D-backs third baseman really is powered by the Brazilian steakhouse. His batting average jumps if there is a Fogo in the city he is hitting, and his numbers improve even more when the steakhouse location is within a mile of the ball park he is hitting. See the full numbers below:

Lucky for the D-backs, there is a Fogo within a mile of Coors Field, and Escobar was feeling the Fogo power. Escobar hit 5/13, three runs scored, two home runs and four RBIs in the three game set.

Fogo power, indeed.

Swihart Breaks Out

Finally, Blake Swihart joined the Diamonds in the Desert podcast on Wednesday to discuss his transition since joining the Diamondbacks. You can hear that entire conversation below as he breaks down making the jump from the Red Sox to the National League West and what his versatility can do for the team.

On Sunday, he reached base three times and hit his first career home run as a Diamondback.

The Diamondbacks continue their roadtrip by flying cross-country to take on Tampa Bay in a three-game set.
