Record-setting 3rd inning propels D-backs to victory

It’s opening day, there’s no need to over react. Right?

However, the Arizona Diamondbacks pummeled the Colorado Rockies 16-1.

The 3rd inning was the story. 18 batters, 14 runs and 13 hits. All franchise records.

Blaze Alexander drove in the 14th run of the 3rd inning with his first career hit.

The over/under on the D-backs win total is 84.5 games. Draft Kings has them at +4000 odds to win the World Series. Not saying opening day holds too much merit, but the over may be a smart move.

This team will be fun to watch. The atmosphere at Chase Field is much improved in all aspects. Yes there will be slumps, but the highs of the season will be some of the best in franchise history.

It feels like the 64 win Suns team following a Finals loss. Maybe this team will get the job done. Maybe not. We’ll find out in October…
