INDIANAPOLIS-Arizona State is expecting big things from Brady White.
They’re not the only ones.
The freshman from southern California has already made a lasting impression with one of the most well-known and well-respected quarterback coaches in the country.
“Having him in the Elite 11 [camp], I actually got to coach him,” ESPN college football analyst and QB guru George Whitfield told Sports360AZ.com from the NFL Combine Thursday afternoon. “Loves those big moments. Loves that tricky third down situation…and is game to take a shot.”
The mentality would seem to be a perfect fit in Mike Norvell’s high-speed, spread attack which has shown the capability to throw deep when the situation presents itself.
White, an early enrollee who has already been on campus a couple of months has been working hard to become senior Mike Bercovici’s understudy and potential backup this fall as a true freshman.
“I’m really excited about the future,” the four-star recruit told Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat in an earlier phone interview. “I’m thankful and blessed with this opportunity to be playing with these players around me and for this coaching staff. The future is bright here at ASU.”
He also has the “it” factor. The knack to ramp up his play when the game is on the line.
“There’s nothing more emphatic about a quarterback who will put his foot in the ground and believes he can go anywhere on the field with the football,” Whitfield said.
White had a number of scholarship offer from power five programs like Oregon, Nebraska, Louisville and Tennessee.
The Sun Devils open spring practice Monday, March 16th and conclude with their annual spring game April 10th at Sun Devil Stadium.
