Mesquite baseball had a fantastic run this season. A senior led team that was resilient and competed toe to toe with the best teams in Division I all season.
One of the biggest senior leaders for the Wildcats is catcher and clean-up hitter Jake Howard.
Howard was second on the team in home run and RBI’s and also hit close to .400 on the season. But maybe most importantly, Howard was the leader for Mesquite while behind home plate, working directly with a Mesquite pitching staff that caused a lot of other teams in the state a lot of problems.
It is this leadership from Howard that has raise the attention of pro scouts.
